The tie clip is shaped like a long rectangle with up and down L like shapes with pieces of inlaid abalone shell in them. The shell pieces are iridescent and have flashes of different colors.

The bar that holds it onto the tie has a rounded end and is curved towards the middle. Markings can be seen on the clasp part as well as the back of the tie bar itself.

Taxco 950 Sterling and Abalone Vintage Tie Bar

Taxco 950 sterling and iridescent inlaid abalone shell vintage tie bar. This is a beautiful piece of Mexican jewelry that would make a nice gift for the Gentleman. 

  • Size: 2" x  3/8" in size.
  • Type: Pre Owned Retro from the 1970's. 
  • Condition: Very darkened patina, especially on the back. All shell pieces intact with nice color and flash.
  • Materials: 950 Sterling silver, abalone shell.
  • Markings: Marked with eagle marking with a 3 inside it on the back at the bottom part of the bar. Above the eagle marking is Hecho en Mexico, Sterling, Taxco 950 going in a circle. In the middle of that is what appears to be V Sacal with part of the first A missing.
  • Weight: 6.3 grams.
